Privacy policy

Our commitment

We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect at checkout

When you place an order, we collect the personal information needed to process it: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number (if provided). We collect this so we can fulfil your order, process payment, and communicate with you about it.

Our platform

Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the online e-commerce platform, payment processing, and secure data storage that let us sell to you. Shopify handles payment card data in line with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Analytics and advertising tools we use

We use the following tools to understand site traffic and measure the performance of our marketing:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager — website traffic and behaviour reporting
  • Meta Pixel — advertising performance measurement on Facebook and Instagram

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your session, and understand how visitors use our store. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the store functions for you.

Amazon links

Some of our product pages link out to Amazon.com.au. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Clicking one of these links takes you to Amazon's website, where Amazon's own privacy notice applies. Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute the referral to us; we do not control or receive any personal information Amazon collects on its own site.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails to people who have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or unsubscribing directly.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers above (including Shopify, Google, and Meta) store or process data outside Australia. We only share the minimum information needed for them to provide their service to us.

Access, correction, and complaints

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint about how we've handled it, by emailing ahoyhoy@yrgear.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
